Senate Passes Gordner Measure to Recognize Respiratory Therapists

(HARRISBURG) - The Senate of Pennsylvania today unanimously passed a resolution to designate the week of October 23 to 29 as "Respiratory Care Week" in Pennsylvania. The resolution authored by State Sen. John R. Gordner (R-27) recognizes respiratory therapists for their contributions to health care.

"Respiratory therapists assist physicians with diagnostic procedures, administer oxygen, teach home care to patients and family members and perform a wide variety of services that are integral to health care services," said Sen. Gordner.

The bi-partisan resolution was co-sponsored by 34 members of the Senate.
