Free Workshops Designed to Help Small Businesses Reduce Energy Costs

(HARRISBURG) - - The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is offering a series of free workshops to help business owners find ways to reduce soaring energy costs, according to State Senator John R. Gordner (R-27).

"The workshops are open to the public and businesses of all sizes, but will focus on businesses with fewer than 100 employees," said Sen. Gordner.  "The workshops are funded through a U.S. Department of Energy grant and I commend the Department for taking this initiative to help address rising energy costs."

Business owners will receive information on energy supply options, learn how to identify energy saving opportunities and develop an energy action plan.

A local workshop has been scheduled for May 28 at Bucknell University in Lewisburg.  Registration for the workshop is free and the session is open to the public.  To request a registration form or to receive additional information, the Department may be reached at (717) 783-8411 or by visiting the Department's website at www.depweb.state.pa.us
